Here at Graduate Fashion Foundation, we are committed to ensuring our events, including Graduate Fashion Week, are accessible to all so we can all enjoy and celebrate the largest showcase of graduate talent in the world!
As such, there are a few elements in place at our event to make sure this is the case. If you require an accommodation that isn’t listed below, please do reach out and we can provide more detailed information.
SUBTITLES
Our partners and collaborators that showcase as part of the exhibition are strongly encouraged to include subtitles on content that is shown across the exhibition on their stands. All Graduate Fashion Foundation owned content includes subtitles. If you require a subtitled version and it is not available on site, please do speak to our team.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
There are ramps, an alternative lift route and light and sound warnings in place for the catwalk shows. Ensure to make the front desk aware when you enter, if you would like to utilise any of the alternative routes.
LANYARDS
Sunflower lanyards are available on the front desk upon request. The Graduate Fashion Foundation team can be identified through their ‘organiser’ lanyards.
SEATING
Please note that the event is large and busy, and seating areas can be limited – there is a single large seating area available for our guests. . If you are attending a show, and have purchased the tickets through Graduate Fashion Foundation, please reach out to organise early access or a reserved seat to reduce the need for standing or queuing. If you have purchased through a university, please do speak to the relevant institution to arrange support.
BATHROOMS
There are disabled bathrooms available on site in the backstage area for the use of the teams and guests and can accommodate support as well as the individual.
BACKSTAGE ACCESSIBILITY
For more information on the backstage accessibility, please speak with the institution or business that is giving you access to backstage - for example, if you are student, it’s key to talk to your university, if you are a make up artist, please speak with the brand you work for, and so on.
PARKING
For full disabled car parking information, please visit the Truman Brewery venue website, available here.
STEP-FREE ACCESS
Step-free entry is provided via the Backstage Accessible Entrance, which is clearly signposted on the main venue gate signage. Additional colourful A-boards outside also help visitors locate the entrance easily.
ACCESSIBLE FACILITIES
The venue features a recently installed accessible lift within the Grade II listed building, designed for wheelchair users, with a 1-metre-wide door and a safe working load of 1000 kg. Solid concrete ramps, suitable for heavy goods vehicles, are used by all guests to access the T1 exhibition hall and the catwalk area.
COMFORT AND SUPPORT
Our backstage desk offers lightweight, foldable director chairs for guests who need to rest while exploring the exhibition. For further support, detailed information on backstage accessibility can be obtained from your hosting institution or business.
WAYFINDING
Our main venue map and digital event guide include locations of accessible toilets and the lift. Please feel free to ask our team for assistance or further details to help plan your visit comfortably.
ACCOMMODATIONS
We are committed to facilitating accommodations wherever possible. If you require more detail on anything in this statement to enable you to attend the event, and to request accommodations, please get in touch with eventassistant@graduatefashionweek.com, and our team will arrange these with you.
We value inclusion and take implementing accessibility options at our event seriously, so if you have any suggestions, we are always open to feedback! We look forward to welcoming you to the event.
