New Look Designer, Christopher Englinde, spoke about the importance of customer focus during the High-Street or High-End live talk that took place in the ASOS GFW Talk Space.

Englinde was quick to point out the benefits and rewarding nature of working in high-street retail design, as he states “the beauty is that you can actually dress the world”. He also reinforced the idea that although high-end designs can be more elaborate or include more statement pieces, the fashion industry is based upon target markets, consumer culture, and “at the end of the day, everything needs to sell”.

In regards to consumer research, and high-street designs having to be more practical than high-end attire, he suggests that “it doesn’t have to be boring, it just has to be considered”.
