I was influenced by Paul Cezanne's apples. I saw his apple painting and learned about Western art. I learned about the history of Western art and learned the mechanism of contemporary art from Takashi Murakami's book. I think there are many similarities between clothes and art. However I think that it has changed from some time.

I feel that it was around the time when art began to emphasise the intellectual part not from visual expression. Specifically, I think it was around the time when collections called conceptual art began to appear. Picasso's cubism began with Paul Cezanne's apple, and Marcel Duchamp painted a nude body down the stairs to create a work called Fontaine. From that time on, I think that the difference between clothing and art began to emerge. Clothes are still only visual expressions. I think that Hip-hop art is a typical visual expression. I can say Contemporary art has become an intellectual work that reads the context.

Then I felt that it would be okay if there was a piece of clothing that could read the context of the clothing. I want to make such a work. I decided to make clothes instead of apples using the concept of Paul Cezanne. I made clothes from various viewpoints by adjusting the pattern paper. Unlike painting, clothes are three-dimensional, but unlike sculpture, they are not solid objects. I feel that it is a special object that changes in response to the movements of the human body. The three items I made this time are the same as Cezanne chose apples. It covers basic clothes that have been around for a long time and have been seen by many.

The concept of this work is wrapped in the flower called “Snow Daisy”. Snow Daisy is a flower reminiscent of the arctic, with the whole flower covered in pure white. The flower word is sincere, winter footprint and integrity. I don’t have an opportunity to look up flower words, but I’ve searched the concept of this work in detail. By searching the flower words, I was able to greatly inflate my image of the work. In particular, I was attracted by the word “integrity”.

A detailed explanation of this word means that it’s clean. The goal is to make clean, white clothes like these words. This flower is blooming everywhere, but I felt they were beautiful and strong with wonderful flower word. I chose the concept I wanted to create a cute and existential work like this flower. And since I was a child, I have often been with my father to see flowers and I’ve always loved them.

The inspiration of the work is that even if the flowers are blooming everywhere and nobody notices them, they will be influenced by cute and well blooming Snow Daisy and I will create a work that has an image of white, beautiful and integrity. Since Snow Daisy is a white flower, in particular, I wanted to create a work with a sense of cleanliness. I also focused on flower beds and flowers growing on the road I usually walk on. By doing so, I was able to learn about flowers that I don’t know. Through my work, I was able to become more interested in flowers.
