Backstage revealed a blur of emotions, excited models stand ready, whilst nervous but proud designers help them get dressed into their award winning collections. A mix of vibrant colours stole the backstage dressing room, with every person deep in action, including the make-up and hair artists from our sponsors L’Oreal Paris and partners Max Factor, and London Beauty Artists. With 18 awards that were presented at the finale show, the nerves and adrenaline filled the atmosphere backstage.

The talent from the designers at the Gala Show demonstrated skill and techniques executed into their designs. Rebecca Wilson the Christopher Bailey Gold award winner’s collection was unique, using a family as the models, the garments were tattered and use of patchwork curated a dated family village scene. Every collection by the designers was distinctive from experimental techniques with shape and texture, used by Jacaranda Brain whom was the joint winner of the Visionary Knitwear award, to the use of embellishment stitching onto chiffon to form elegant garments, which Louise Clarke created and was the winner of the George Catwalk to Store Award.
