The innovation and creativity that is on show at Graduate Fashion Week has been captured through the illustrative work of Calypso Pierpoint.

Nottingham Trent University’s unique and innovative approach to their collections has gone against the conventions of the fashion industry and this is conveyed in the illustrations. The collections showed experimentation regarding shape and cuts. The strong lines show the detail and unique shape of the pieces alongside the colouring.

The dramatic make up by L’Oréal inspired a selection of Calypso’s illustrations. She captures the electric blue, bold eye featured in Bath Spa University’s catwalk show whilst the models were preparing back stage. Calypso’s work shows the nude lip, strong contouring and bold eye that finished the catwalk looks.

The delicate nature of Boux Avenue’s lingerie was captured by Calypso. As a proud sponsor of GFW, Boux Avenue’s beautiful lingerie and nightwear featured in Calypso’s sketchbook. For the three years that they’ve been involved with GFW, the artistic nature of their products continues to inspire all who attend.  Calypso was inspired by the collections on show at Graduate Fashion Week. The innovative and unique collections influenced her illustrations in a way that the conventional approach to fashion design wouldn’t.
