British designer, Savannah Miller, took to the GFW Live! stage to discuss her journey from being a Central Saint Martins student to having her own fashion label. It was an incredibly inspiring talk filled with plenty of invaluable advice.

Having landed her first role as Alexander McQueen’s PA, she then went on to design for the likes of Anya Hindmarch and Matthew Williamson before setting up denim brand Twenty8Twelve with her sister, Sienna. Wanting to design for a label that was more wearable and accessible to everyone, she then moved to the high-street, collaborating with Debenhams to create Nine by Savannah Miller. She is currently working on her third collection for her own bridal wear range.

With years of experience, she stressed that to make it in the industry, you should never forget who you are, stating that ‘if you don’t speak through your own voice, people will see straight through you’. Her two top tips? Work really hard all the time, and love what you do.
