Graduate Fashion Foundation today announces the full physical and digital event schedule for Graduate Fashion Week 2022, the world’s largest showcase of BA Fashion talent taking place from Monday 20th to Friday 24th June at Coal Drops Yard in King’s Cross, London.

Graduate Fashion Week 2022 will continue to deliver everything it has become world renowned for over the past 31 years, with an extensive in person, digital and live stream schedule that will celebrate the incredible and innovative talent the UK Fashion industry is unparalleled in. 

The week will open in style with a VIP Opening Night Catwalk event featuring the work from the Foundation’s 40 UK Member Universities, curated and hosted by Graduate Fashion Foundation Ambassadors Henry Holland, Patrick McDowell and new GFW Ambassador Munroe Bergdorf.  

Graduate Fashion Week has been the springboard to success for many talents throughout the fashion industry from the first Gold Award winner Christopher Bailey through to Munroe herself who worked with Graduate Fashion Week at the start of her career.  The model, activist and Doctor of Letters, is thrilled to be joining to help support and champion the next generation of creative talents as well as further her incredible activism work that aligns with the Foundations core objective of enabling a more diverse and inclusive fashion industry.

Munroe joins as the 21st Global Ambassador for the international charity whom include; Richard Quinn, Ida Petersson, Sara Maino, Fabio Piras, Daniel Lismore, Christopher Raeburn, Teatum Jones, Caryn Franklin MBE, Dior Bediako, Eunice Olumide MBE, Orsola De Castro to name but a few. The GFF Global Ambassadors sit alongside the charities Patrons Christopher Bailey MBE, Victoria Beckham OBE, Vivienne Westwood DBE RDI, Nick Knight OBE, Diane von Furstenberg, Nadja Swarovski and Zandra Rhodes DBE RDI,

 

For the first time since 2019, Graduate Fashion Week will be welcoming back an audience to its famed runway, with 15 catwalk shows featuring the work from 25 universities. Running alongside the catwalk will be a series of events held within the GFW Dome presentation space that will feature work from an additional four universities. Once again Samsung KX will play host to a series of GFW Live! talks with 10 talks throughout the week from fashion icons including Nadja Swarovski, Teatum Jones and Jimmy Choo as well as knowledge sharing from platforms such as Fashion Minority Alliance, UK Black Comms Network and Sara Blonstein, Founder of the eponymous agency Blonstein.

The event will also feature an exhibition of work from its 40 UK Member Universities as well as a Retail Trail with graduate work being showcased in stores across Coal Drops Yard including Tom Dixon, Fred Perry and Cos. Additionally, Samsung KX, London’s hub of innovation, continue a successful partnership hosting an exhibition of inspiring graduate designs amplified with virtual displays on Samsung’s latest technology.

GFF is key to supporting talented graduates, showcasing the best work from each of the Foundation’s member universities, enabling future success in the fashion industry. The charity aims to increase employment opportunities in the UK and abroad by bringing together fashion educators and industry leaders to support graduates to reach their full potential after leaving university. The event has become a key basis for new talent, encouragement and origination and is a key part of the industry’s annual calendar. Graduate Fashion Week is ‘the place to be’ for both current workers in the fashion industry and those who aspire to do so. 

GFW fully embraces the digital age, with the graduatefashionweek.com platform where the event is viewable across the globe. The state of the art, dynamic portal will be the home to all live stream event content, featuring all runway shows, GFWLIVE! industry talks, and exclusively hosting the 37 creative university fashion films. Users can also interact with the content via live chat. The website is freely accessible to all including; media, industry professionals, global fashion experts and consumers of fashion.

Within the site. Industry can scout talent from over 3600 curated graduate portfolio profiles. This pool of talent stands out from other platforms due to its curation of the very best fashion graduates, allowing potential employers from across the industry to view work from 82 global universities. This immense volume of content will allow industry leaders to filter and search efficiently for the styles they are interested in and will enable the graduates to have their projects accessible all year round, effectively opening up a whole new channel of communication between fashion graduates and the industry.
