We are delighted to confirm the judging panel for the highly regarded Christopher Bailey Gold Award consists of Fabio Piras, Sarah Harris, Angela Missoni and Carlos Nazario. First won by Burberry’s Creative Director Christopher Bailey 26 years ago, its recipients have gone on to be some of the most successful British designers of our time.
The talented individual will follow in the footsteps of Stella McCartney, Giles Deacon, Matthew Williamson and Julien Macdonald and will receive £10,000 with an additional £2000 going towards their university!
Our judges are experienced industry experts; Fabio Piras the MA Fashion Course Leader from Central Saint Martins, Sarah Harris the Fashion Features director from British Vogue and Carlos Nazario who is Fantastic Man’s Fashion Director. They will be looking for a menswear, womenswear, or mixed collection that displays creativity, catwalk impact, and craftsmanship.
Angela Missoni, Creative Director of Italian design house Missoni, will be joining the judging panel for the prestigious Christopher Bailey Gold Award, and we're so pleased to have her on board. Learn more about her involvement with us here!
The winner will be announced at our Gala Awards Show from 7pm on the 7th June. Last year’s Gold Award winner was Hazel Symons from De Montfort University whose womenswear collection caught the judges’ eye for her originality and exceptional attention to detail. Since winning the award Hazel has worked for Sophie Hulme and Jenny Packham.
It will be exciting to see who our judges will select as the next Christopher Bailey Gold Award Winner -undoubtedly they will have a bright future in fashion ahead of them!
