Graduate Fashion Week has named Nick Knight OBE, one of the world’s most celebrated and influential fashion photographers, as a Lifetime Patron.

Constantly ahead of the technological curve, Nick Knight has shaped and enhanced the global perception of contemporary fashion. Always changing, always pushing boundaries, he was awarded an OBE in 2010, a decade after he launched the ground breaking SHOWstudio.

Nick Knight embodies what it means to be truly contemporary in the fashion industry today. He is the most incredible image-maker of his generation, redefining what it means to be a fashion photographer and changing the industry beyond all recognition. He has inspired not just a generation of photographers, but of designers, stylists, art directors and hair and make- up artists too.” - Mark Newton-Jones, Chairman of Graduation Fashion Week.

Knight joins Christopher Bailey, the winner of the top prize in the first Graduate Fashion Week back in 1991 and Victoria Beckham as Patrons of this celebrated fashion platform.

“I am honored to be become a Patron of Graduate Fashion Week,” says Nick Knight. “I have had the privilege of working with so many creative people and inventive thinkers who have shown their work at the event. Fashion education in the UK is the best in the world – it really supports radical new ways of thinking and working, which creates things we haven’t seen before. And that’s what fashion is all about.”

“I have been a fan of Nick Knight from his influential work with Yohji Yamamoto right through his boundary changing work on SHOWstudio.  Having someone with Nick's undeniable talent and creativity join Graduate Fashion Week as a Lifetime Patron is of huge benefit our students and graduates. He encapsulates today’s fashion industry, inspiring so many with his ingenious ability.” - Martyn Roberts, Creative & Managing Director of Graduate Fashion Week.
