Q&A

KAREN MILLEN PORTFOLIO AWARD | EMILY BUNCH | UNIVERSITY OF LEEDS

HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE NAMED AN AWARD WINNER?

Being named the Karen Millen Portfolio Award winner is a huge personal achievement; to be selected from all of the showcased talent at this year’s GFW is such a compliment and I couldn’t be more pleased to have been chosen for the award.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING SINCE GFW?

Since winning the award I have started the Protégé scheme at Karen Millen at their office in London where I am working alongside the design team.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOPES FOR THE FUTURE?

After finishing my placement at Karen Millen I would love the opportunity to work at a lingerie brand. I worked in lingerie design during my time interning at the H&M Head Office in Stockholm, Sweden and found that it is a product I really enjoy designing and is one I would like to gain more experience with.

HAS BEING INVOLVED WITH GFW LED TO ANYTHING ELSE?

A few companies that were at GFW have been in touch about potential job openings.

WHEN DID YOU FIRST HEAR ABOUT GFW?

I first heard about GFW in my first year of University and went down to see the exhibition that same year to experience it first-hand.
