Yan Ting Kwok from Norwich University of Arts was announced as the winner of the Little Black Dress Celebrity Gown Competition, live at Graduate Fashion Week. Alesha Dixon named Miss Ting Kwok the recipient of the award and the Britain’s Got Talent Judge will wear Yan’s dress to a high-profile red carpet or TV event.

Miss Ting Kwok said: “It was a dream come true and hearing my name announced by Alesha Dixon as the winner was truly amazing. I can’t wait to see Alesha wearing the dress on the red carpet.”

The competition itself was judged on Wednesday 10th May. Yan was invited to London to discuss her design in detail with the panel of judges (including Alesha Dixon, television presenter Mark Evans and esteemed journalist Hilary Alexander OBE). She was assessed on whether she could capture Alesha’s personal sense of style with her design. The judges also considered how well she detailed her creative process, whether she met the technical specifications, pattern cutting, prototyping and marketing plans based on the finished design. Four candidates were shortlisted, but it was Yan Ting Kwok’s design that stood out amongst the others. Yan was then invited to Little Black Dress and worked with a skilled team to get help bringing her dress design to life.
