The Little Black Dress Celebrity Gown Competition was judged on Wednesday 10th May. The panel of judges included Britain's Got Talent Judge Alesha Dixon, Little Black Dress's Mark Evans and esteemed journalist Hilary Alexander OBE. Four contestants were assessed on whether they could capture Alesha’s personal sense of style with their dress designs.

They were also judged on how they detailed their creative process, whether they met the technical specifications, pattern cutting, prototyping and on their marketing plans based on the finished design.

The shortlisted candidates were:

Emily Hayward- Plymouth College of Art.

Amy Bray- Plymouth College of Art.

Yan Ting Kwok- Norwich University of Arts

Amy Morris- UCLAN

The lucky winner will have the pleasure of seeing their dress worn by Alesha at Graduate Fashion Week!

When asked about what she thought of the candidates’ designs, our Global Ambassador Alesha Dixon told us “it has been very refreshing and lovely to see the students and to get to see their work and concepts.”

Although she did struggle deciding which one was the winning design saying “You almost wish you can chose them all as they are so talented and have them all create something that I could wear to an event, but we have to pick one winner.”

The winner of the Little Black Dress Celebrity Gown Competition will be announced live, at Graduate Fashion Week, by Alesha Dixon herself, with the finished dress showcased at the event.
