Under the dark roof of the Old Truman Brewery, 10 graduates showcased a mix of womenswear, menswear and sportswear collections in GFW17’s first presentation. With Katie Clarke’s flowing sleeves and high necklines and fellow graduate Jade Shield’s elegant woollen men’s overcoat, there was a Victorian vibe to the presentation. Tom Bird Jones’s fur jackets were not ones to miss with their raccoon-inspired spikes.
In terms of tailoring, Katie Brandwood cleverly teamed feminine, layered dresses with boxy, masculine jackets whilst Yin Su spruced up classic grey pinstripe suits with noteworthy red accessories. The wine was flowing and the brass band’s hymns were playing, GFW17’s first presentation was officially a success.
