To celebrate our 30th anniversary year, we set GFF graduates a challenge: to get creative and come up with ways to celebrate this huge milestone. From photography to branding, graduates submitted their innovative ideas that communicated who we are and what we do. We’re excited to share the four winners from the competition and a bit more about their work! Congratulations to:

Catie MacGregor from Leeds Arts University

Amy Wilton from Norwich University of the Arts

Sophie Ashley from the University of Central Lancashire

& Chloe Johnson from Leeds Arts University

The winners were chosen by the GFF team, you can check out their winning submissions below!

Catie MacGregor from Leeds Arts University

As a team we loved Catie’s consideration of the challenges the past 12 months has presented to GFF and the celebration of perseverance of students, graduates and GFF in her submission. Her idea to create cut out outfits felt particularly fitting to the 30th anniversary celebrations, bringing a modern take on a favourite retro idea of paper fashion dolls. The idea to allow digital participants to print and cut out a version to get involved was another area that fits well to this year’s hybrid digital GFW. Congrats Catie!

Amy Wilton from Norwich University of the Arts

As a team, we loved the thoughtful consideration in Amy’s submission of the guest experience, both physically and digitally. She also showed a clear understanding of the activities and purpose of the foundation through her mood board and campaign development. The AR filter to enable all of our worldwide digital guests to interact with GFW this year across social channels as we launch our hybrid event was a particularly strong element. Well done, Amy!

Sophie Ashley from the University of Central Lancashire

As a team we were amazed by the creativity displayed in Sophie’s ideas and loved the overall campaign of 30 in 30, it is clear that she has carefully considered and researched the brief in detail, and this is shown through the quality of her submission. We were also very impressed by the layout and use of our branding throughout her submission, giving the document the feel of a professional creative proposal. Amazing work, Sophie!

Chloe Johnson from Leeds Arts University

As a team, we loved Chloe’s research into the imagery of past GFW and GFF events, especially the inclusion of our incredible patrons and ambassadors to develop digital collages. We would like to see how this can be developed to also include some past winning Gold Award collections to celebrate the 30th anniversary even further. Congrats, Chloe!

We’ll be working closely with the winners to activate their ideas for this year’s event. Stay tuned for more!
