We are proud to announce that British department store Debenhams will partnering with the charity for the third year running for 2018. The retailer which introduced designer collaborations to the high street will bring an exciting roster of visiting Fashion Designers to the event including LFW’s award winning Richard Quinn.

Continuing its support for graduating talent, Debenhams continues to sponsor the Debenhams Menswear Award, which will be judged on Wednesday 6th June with the winner announced during the Gala Award Show that same evening. As one of GFW most prestigious awards, the retailer will honour the winning graduate with a £5,000 prize and a further £1,000 to the winning graduate’s university. The exciting judging panel is made up of senior members of the Debenhams team including Steven Cook, Managing Director of Fashion and Home, and Julien Fuller, the Head of Menswear Design. They sit alongside GQ Contributor, presenter and influencer Jim Chapman.

“Having Debenhams return to sponsor the Menswear Award for 2018 is extremely exciting. They offer invaluable advice and opportunities to our graduates and an early-career changing top prize to the winner of this prestigious award. The charity is also very privileged to receive the support of so many exciting designers at Debenhams as part of their presence.”

Martyn Roberts, Managing and Creative Director of Graduate Fashion Week

As part of their continued involvement within Graduate Fashion Week, Debenhams will also have a stand onsite holding influential events and masterclasses. They will also give the opportunity for graduates to receive career advice on a ‘drop by basis’ with their portfolio and CVs.  Designers from Debenhams including Patrick Grant former judge on the Great British Sewing Bee and young British fashion designer Richard Quinn will be spending time on the retailers stand.  In addition, there will be recruitment opportunities for graduates to explore and apply for within the company, as well as exciting masterclasses for all attendees.

“Debenhams is proud to support Graduate Fashion Week. We understand the importance of nurturing new talent and providing them opportunities and advice. The Menswear Award is a great vehicle to provide a graduate with an immediate opportunity within a mass market retailer.  We are looking forward to seeing this year’s talent.”

Steven Cook, Debenhams Managing Director of Fashion and Home

Debenhams will also be hosting engaging talks within the GFW Talk Live! studio with renowned designers and industry members as well as last year’s Menswear Award winner Daniel Rynne, who continues to work with Debenhams joining alumni from GFW17.
