All eyes were on Polly Thomas at the Edinburgh College of Art show, who recently scooped up the British Fashion Council scholarship. Her collection consisted of gothic, black looks which were heavily structured with patent details.  Whilst bright sherbet colours adorned the wild and wonderful collections of womenswear designers Jelena Podgorbunski and Rachel Weir, Rosana Espocito and Ellen Wood turned to a more earthy natural feel, focusing on heavy knitwear and oversized tailoring.

The menswear was particularly strong from Edinburgh with Max Wells Gray’s perfect collaboration of the old and the new – adding embellishment and gold jacquard details on to track pants and classic tailoring whilst Sarah Bell James shook things up by putting the boys in feminine night slips and nipple tassles (yes, it’s now a thing) teamed with heavy Denim.
