Rounding off Tuesday evening of GFW17, Kingston took control of our SmartFocus catwalk. Starting with a skilled take on menswear, the light pink and green tailored jackets by Zexi Yu were perfectly embroidered with delicate flowers. The second collection, and most shocking, was composed of six princess gowns, that looked like a little girls dreams. Models wearing tiaras held bouquets made of teddy bears, whilst their dresses were stuffed with the soft toys. The dark lips balance out the crying face print on the tulle skirts making the perfect yet haunting collection.

Designer Tara Khemiri took a new approach to sustainable fashion, by recycling, and reusing old t-shirts, jumpers, track suit bottoms, and jeans that contained graphic prints we all know and recognize. Sewing these different pieces together created a beautiful whole collection, that was made entirely out of old garments.

Alongside the use of recycled clothing, the final collection brought us dungarees, overalls and workwear made from recycled jeans sewn together. Long silhouettes created the perfect balance between edge and craftsmanship behind the collection.

What better way to end a Tuesday night than with Kingston University on our SmartFocus catwalk?
