The Swarovski International Catwalk Competition was the first show of the day to grace our SmartFocus Catwalk. This catwalk consisted of 32 different designers from across the globe showcasing 6 looks they have put together. Ranging from The British Higher school of Art & Design in Moscow, University of the Arts, Berlin, and The New School Parsons in New York.

This catwalk show was an interesting and amazing way to see international students come together to exhibit work from their studies under one room. No two collections looked the same, and so it was inspiring for the audience to see the different techniques and approaches that these universities are encouraging. From Lyudmila Sullivan’s (Pratt Institute) collection of patchwork dresses, with delicate Swarovski details, to Indu Rai’s (Raffles Design Institute Hong Kong) use of small tulle roses and petals complimenting pinstripe trousers and jackets.

This Swarovski International Catwalk Competition on our SmartFocus Catwalk was an insight into the many ways that fashion design is taught and developed around the world. We are so thankful for Swarovski, SmartFocus and every designer across the world who have dedicated their hard work towards what they do. The talent shone through in many ways.
