The students of the University of Central Lancashire took to the SmartFocus Catwalk to showcase their diverse range of graduate collections. Wording was a dominant feature with Rebekah Johnstone’s menswear collection featuring slogans such as ‘The Northern Gentleman.’
Similarly, Samera Akhtar’s ‘C.D.G’ bold branding was repeatedly shown on her urban pieces and veil-like hats.
Alice Green’s striking take on chunky knitwear reflected the bold fuchsia make-up, with out-there contrasting metal details, adding a punchy twist to her womenswear line. The details in the texture of the looks were particularly strong, with Bing Hong’s monochrome unisex collection (nominated for the David Band Textile Award) featuring scintillating ways of ruching and ripping, whilst Alice Potter’s ethereal all-blue womenswear line used endless amounts of tulle to great grand shapes and structures.
