We have teamed up with The Dots to showcase the work and profiles of our brilliantly talented Class of 2020 students from our UK member universities. The Dots is a professional network of 500,000 members and over 10,000 brands across the creative industries with over 70% being under 34. The tech platform includes a large live job portal containing roles from the leading fashion industry.

We will be showcasing your work throughout the Summer promoting your talent to creative leaders, collaborators and recruiters across the creative industries.

Industry experts and recruiters will be able to view all final year student work and scout talent upon the Graduate Fashion Foundation company profile and curated talent listings. The page will also direct industry through to personal profiles and additional work of students.

GFF will be sharing further information and links with the industry to begin viewing the work on the 15th of June 2020.

The world has changed a lot, but you don’t have to navigate it alone!

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

1 - Head to The Dots and create a profile: Many of you already have a Dots profile, but for those that don't, we'd encourage you to jump over here and create one in the next few days. If you already have a profile, please do jump in and update your information and add your incredible work and projects. The downloadable document on the green button provides a step-by-step guide to make your profile shine.

Top Tips for your Profile:

Make sure to include your contact information. That includes;

  • Name

  • Email Address

  • Professional Social Media Channels

  • About

    This is a good chance to shout about who you are;

    Your Background

    Work Experience

    Your Degree and Studies

    Alongside your Creative Practises

2 - Follow Graduate Fashion Foundation you can find us here

3 - Upload you work and projects to your profile

Top Tips for what to include within your projects:

  • Make sure you have a profile picture!

  • It may seem like an obvious one, but if you don't have a profile picture on The Dots you won't appear in search results - so you won't see your name in lights.

  • You don't need a professional headshot, anything from other social channels will do!

  • You don’t have to include everything, but select your best work that showcases who you are and where you want to head. Make sure it shows your breadth of skills.

  • The descriptive copy that sits with your projects should include eye-catching titles and descriptions of the work being viewed.

  • Projects can be absolutely anything... from photos of an event or an interview, to a full campaign. Be sure to use high-res visuals/media within projects (imagery ideally 800 pixels wide or more).

  • Chose a striking project thumbnail.

  • Thumbnails are the first thing that our curators and the community will see. Like a bright red door with a gorgeous brass knocker on it, thumbnails tempt curiosity!

4- Tag GFF In Your Work & It Will Appear On Our Company Page For Industry To See

Top Tip: Here is the info on how to tag us within your work

  • Simply create a project and credit the company ‘Graduate Fashion Foundation' in ‘step two’ of the posting project process. This will feature the project on both your profile and the GFF company page under its ‘Projects tagged in’ section.

  • When you are creating a project, you can credit your university collaborators and members of The Dots at the bottom of the edit section. Click the + sign in the circle and search for your teammate. If the person is not on The Dots, You can invite them! When they create a profile, they will appear as credited in the project - yay!
