Closing the second day of GFW19 was Ravensbourne. Their award winning fashion course has an international reputation. Their catwalk show consisted of a multitude of inspirational collections, which covered everything from bridal lace, to water rafts.
Ravensbourne’s core principles of encouraging brave and creative thinkers were showcased in the innovative designs produced on the catwalk.
It was inspiring to see such a refreshing take on menswear at Graduate Fashion Week 2017. Almost every university showcased a men’s collection, but several graduates stood out by challenging the conventional ideas of menswear, using ‘feminine silhouettes’ and fabrics like silk, lace and sheer fabrics. We also saw a more diverse selection of models, with Ellen Fowles’ collection modelled entirely by older men at the Ravensbourne show.
